meet the fockersSo many comedic situations arise out of meeting your in-laws. In the first movie Ben Stiller's character Greg gets to meet his prospective father in law. This time round it's time to meet Ben's family. Jack Byrnes played by Robert de Niro and his wife tags along too. Greg Focker's parents are played by heavyweights Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand who light up the screen with their presence.They play a couple with an amorous and bohemian lifestyle which offers a stark contrast to Robert de Niro's stern and overly protective father personality. The Focker's family culture emphasizes a lot of hugs and kisses for a child while the Byrnes believe in leaving the child alone and letting him cry it out. The two families meet one another and learn that they each have different ways of doing things and seeing things. Byrnes think Focker celebrates mediocrity while Roz Focker tells Byrnes off that he is like a little Jack ( referring to his grandson) crying for attention. Hilarious moments include Byrnes over suspicious and overly protective father nature is played out again and subjects Greg to a truth serum injection. Meanwhile Pam Byrnes discovers she is pregnant and this information has to be kept out of her father's knowledge at all cost. Another bombshell is dropped when the Byrne family reveals Greg had sex with his baby sitter and Byrnes thinks Greg has a 15 year old son.
